The Deeper Meaning of Holiness

Holy Name, Holy Day and Holy Word

"Holiness" in the Bible is not only related to our identity and lifestyle, or to keep the 7th Commandment, but also respect and obedience to the Lord's Holy Name, Holy Day and Holy Words.
To be sanctified means to use God's Word as the only standard, to separate our lives from the world, and to attribute it to the Lord God alone.

(1 Peter 1:16) since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."

The following explains the true meaning of Holiness from the Bible.

1. The Holy Word: God is holy, God's Word is Holy

The Bible is inspired by God, is holy truth, and is the only standard for our faith and life.
The core of Holiness is to use the Bible as the basis for judgment and reject the lies and vanity of the world.

♦ (2 Timothy 3:16-17): "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

♦ (John 17:17): "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."

The Holy Word allows us to understand God's plan of creation and redemption, and also teaches us how to respect God and love others in the world.
Any teaching that is divorced from the Bible, no matter how attractive, is just a worldly lie that cannot bring life and salvation.

2. The Holy Name: IESU (YESU) is the Only Savior

The name of the Lord God is holy and is the only way for us to be saved.
Just as the Lord Jesus quoted "Lord" or "God" in the Old Testament Scriptures instead of the incorrect translation "Jehovah", we should also follow His example.

♦ (Acts 4:12): "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

♦ (Philippians 2:9-11): "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

The name of the Savior Jesus should be correctly pronounced as IESU or [YESU], which is the original pronunciation preserved in Greek and Latin, not the altered modern "Jesus". The holy name of God is not the incorrectly translated "Jehovah".

3. The Holy Day: Keeping the Lord's Day in Truth

Holy days are days established by God for His people, especially the Holy Sabbath, to remind us of gratitude and worship for God's creation and redemption.

Holy Sabbath (Saturday):

♦ (Exodus 20:8): "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

♦ (Genesis 2:3): "Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it."

Our focus should be on remembering God's creation and redemption, not on celebration.

The real celebration of Lord's resurrection is that you to be saved and can be resurrected in the future, to listen and obey is better than to celebrate!

4. Holiness: Rejecting Worldly Lies and Upholding the Holy Word

To be holy means to use the Bible as the standard of judgment in every aspect of life and to refuse to be influenced by the vanity of the world.

♦ (James 4:4): "Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?"

♦ (Romans 12:2): "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Secular lies (such as whether December 25th is the real Christmas day) are not important.

What is important is the salvation that Christ was born to bring to people. We should focus on the Word and discern everything with truth.

Use the Holy Word as the only standard, glorify the Holy Name, and observe the Holy Day.

A holy life is based on the Bible, worships the only True God, His Holy Name is IESU (YESU) - YHWH saves - He will be called Immanuel - God with us - and he will save his people from their sins, and keeps the day of the Lord God holy in truth.

We should reject the vanity of the world, completely use the Holy Word as our guide, and live a holy life that is different from the world.

Summary: "Therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)
